Joseph Barbieri: Bountiful bills and Picturesque Landscapes
On View: March 28 - April 26, 2025
Reception: Saturday, March 29, 2 - 4pm
“My latest work continues my interest in the avian world, although it might confuse an ornithologist and the general public, as my birds do not conform to any that actually exist.
They live in a nether world of contradiction and confusion, flying airplanes, driving cars, standing around in bewilderment, challenging the viewer to accept the irrational with good humor and understanding. "Enzo" refers to Enzo Ferrari whom I saw close by, but did not actually speak to, on a visit to the Ferrari factory in 1966. I confess that he did not actually look like this, and I don't think he ever made or drove a car that wasn't red.” - Joseph Barbieri
