about gallery naga
Located within the Church of the Covenant in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood, Gallery NAGA (formerly Newbury Associated Guild of Artists) was founded in 1977, when a group of congregants who happened to be artists placed their work on display in what used to be the chapel of the church. One month led to the next, and before long, an impromptu gallery was born.
Eventually the gallery members hired professional management and subsequently it went into private hands.
As we approach our 50th year, we continue NAGA's legacy as an inclusive and contemplative sanctuary for art and dialogue, supporting both emerging and established artists in the New England area and beyond.
While our primary focus is painting, we also represent exceptional contemporary photographers, printmakers, and sculptors, as well as the international doyenne of holography, Harriet Casdin-Silver. We specialize in studio furniture, presenting many of the premier makers of unique and limited edition furniture in the country.
