Gallery NAGA offers
internship positions, on a volunteer basis only, to Boston-area students
and graduates who are interested in the field of arts administration
and who wish to learn about the Boston contemporary art world.
Gallery NAGA is one of the leading contemporary art galleries in Boston.
We focus on promoting painting, photography, holography, and sculpture
by Boston and New England artists. In addition, we represent and exhibit
work by nationally known studio furnituremakers.
We are looking for individuals who will be interested in learning administrative,
registrarial, and curatorial skills in the setting of a contemporary
art gallery. Interns assist with the selection, installation, and lighting
of art work for exhibition and with preparations for receptions and
special events. They also have contact with the public, collectors,
and gallery artists. The registrarial aspect of the program includes
inventory record keeping and preparing art for transport.
Prospective interns should be willing to commit to a full semester,
for example, September through January or February through June. Summer
internships are also available. The gallery hours are 10 to 5:30, Tuesday
through Saturday. Interns typically work two full days per week, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
If you are interested, please mail or e-mail a resume and cover letter to the
gallery and call for an interview (617) 267-9060. Two internships per semester are
available. |
